More than 20 industry leaders representing New York City’s business, health care, hospitality, legal and social service sectors participated in a roundtable discussion, hosted by Yoswein New York, with New York State Assembly Majority Leader Joseph D. Morelle on August 11, 2015.
The roundtable discussion/breakfast meet-and-greet, which took place at YNY’s offices in Lower Manhattan, provided an opportunity for Assembly Member Morelle to hear directly from the participants about the range of issues facing their organizations in Albany and New York City. Attendees also heard from Morelle about the work being undertaken by Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and their leadership team on behalf of the residents of New York State.
Morelle – a Democrat from upstate New York whose district includes parts of Irondequoit and Rochester – has served in the state legislature since 1990. As a former business owner, Morelle has established himself as a leader on job creation, public safety and access to affordable health care.
Joni Yoswein, founder and CEO of Yoswein New York, concluded, “Events like these facilitate the face-to-face connections that are an integral part of building relationships between our elected officials and the communities they represent. We’re grateful to the Majority Leader for taking the time to hear firsthand from this impressive group of NYC stakeholders how state government can continue to work better for them.”
