Joni A Yoswein, President and CEO of Yoswein New York, was recently honored as a 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility awardee by City and State Reports.
The award, presented at a September 22nd reception at New York Law School, acknowledged Ms. Yoswein as a leader in corporate social responsibility in the lobbying field, and highlighted her contributions to New York City’s communities.
Ms. Yoswein has undertaken a host of CSR initiative s since founding YNY in 1994.
Most notable are her two most long-standing programs, Books Still Matter, which collects and donates thousands of new children’s books to families in Brooklyn public housing developments, and Margarita Appreciation Night, which has raised more than $100,000 for non-profit organizations serving New Yorkers. Additionally, for more than a decade, she has raised funds for the Anthony J. Genovesi Scholarship at St. Francis College through the YNY Thanksgiving Classic golf outing.
“I’ve always believed that when your name is on the door, you have a unique and personal responsibility,” said Ms. Yoswein. “That belief extends not just to how YNY operates – with a deep respect of the institution of government – but also to how we give back to the communities that we work in and work for.”
